"Shower La" is the first social enterprise in Hong Kong which aims to provide shower service for people with disabilities. The operating philosophy is "Serving the Disabled, supporting the Caregivers."
As we all know personal hygiene is a basic need. The importance of hygiene has become more apparent after the epidemic. However, due to physical or home environment restrictions, it is difficult for many people with disabilities to receive basic support, which gradually affects their mental well-being. "Shower La" service station offers the community an additional option by providing shower services through health workers. The team’s service targets include the elderly, people with limited self-care abilities and disabled people.
"Shower La" aims to rent bathrooms in elderly centres located in different districts during non-peak hours, as well as hire and training low-skilled women and unemployed people in the district as health workers, to increase employment opportunities, and at the same time strengthen community integration and mutual assistance.
