I·CARE Social Enterprise Startup Scheme 2023-24



Launched in 2015-16, the I·CARE Social Enterprise Startup Scheme has been encouraging CUHK students and recent graduates to establish or expand their social enterprises to achieve the social objectives. This scheme is now open for enrolment of teams. Participating teams will receive guidance of experienced mentors on formulating business plan to compete for the CUSE Fund (a maximum of HK$100,000 for each team). Details are as follows:


Online Briefing Session


Date: 27 September 2023 (Wednesday)

Time: 7:00 - 8:00 pm

Target: CUHK students and alumni within 3 years from graduation

Format: Online meeting via Zoom (the link will be sent to successful applicants through email)

  • Introduction to the mentorship programme and training activities under the Scheme

  • Introduction to the application procedures for CUSE Fund

Eligibility


  1. Each team must consist of 2 to 10 participants, at least half of which are CUHK students or alumni who graduated within the last three years.

  2. Participants may serve as the Project Leader (PL) for one team only, and the PL should be either a CUHK student or an alumnus taking up a core role in the team.

  3. PL and half of the members should attend at least 50% of the training activities.

  4. The project has never received CUSE Fund.

* The criteria for CUSE Fund include innovation, sustainability, execution, social impact, stakeholders’ engagement, and entrepreneurship.


Training activities under this Scheme are poised to launch. The wide range of activities will help participants develop and actualise their business ideas. Details are as follows:


Training Activities at Stage 1


1st Session

Topic: Seminar on “Five Things a Social Entrepreneur Must Not Overlook”
