This Centre is pleased to have received the “Platinum Award” and the “Awareness and Engagement Award” under the Green Office Programme (GO!) of 2021. It is in acknowledgement of our efforts in achieving environmental excellence and improving sustainability performances in daily operations. The award presentation ceremony was held virtually on the 5th of last month, with Mr. Eric Ng, Vice-President (Administration), presenting the key awards. Ms. Irene Ng, the Director of this Centre, together with the representatives of six more units which had also been granted the “Platinum Award”, attended the ceremony. Other colleagues were invited to witness this special occasion through live streaming.
The GO! is led by the Social Responsibility and Sustainable Development Office aiming to attain sustainable development goals across the campus. It aspires to cultivate sustainability knowledge and drive behavioural changes among all staff of the University. A recognition scheme presenting the GO! Green Awards is established by the GO! - the University units which fulfil all the mandatory actions listed in the GO! Checklist are recognised as “Competent Green Offices” and they are eligible to compete for a range of awards, including the “Certificate of Merit”, the “Gold Award”, the “Platinum Award” and awards in the eight categories, namely (i) Energy Conservation; (ii) Waste Reduction; (iii) Paper Reduction; (iv) Sustainable Procurement; (v) Sustainable Event Management; (vi) Awareness and Engagement; (vii) Workplace Health and Wellness; and (viii) Innovation.
